Bornly does not offer the Services as medical devices

Bornly does not offer or market the Services as medical devices. Bornly designs and provides them solely for general wellness, education, journaling, reflection, and personal organisation. They are not intended to diagnose, prevent, clinically monitor, predict, prognose, treat, or alleviate disease, injury, disability, pregnancy complications, or another medical condition.

Bornly is not a hospital, emergency service, healthcare provider, clinician, laboratory, dietitian, or pharmacy. No clinician-patient relationship is created. Content, calculations, scores, timers, reminders, arithmetic log-history summaries, trends, AI output, and notifications are general information, not medical advice, diagnosis, monitoring, or treatment.

Not for emergencies

Do not use Bornly to decide whether you need urgent or emergency help. If you think there may be an emergency, call your local emergency number immediately (for example 112 in the EU or 911 in the United States) or seek urgent care.

Never wait for an app alert, result, trend, partner notification, or AI answer. Notifications can be disabled, delayed, duplicated, or undelivered. The absence of an alert is not reassurance.

Professional advice

Ask a qualified professional about symptoms, pregnancy concerns, infant or fetal movement, sleep problems, diet, allergies, eating disorders, supplements, medication, treatment, or any change in your health. Do not disregard or delay professional advice because of the Services.

Do not start, stop, or change medication, supplements, treatment, a medically prescribed diet, or a clinical care plan based on Bornly.

Feature-specific limits

Gutly and gut-health features

Food, self-reported experience, bowel, mood, food-note, scores, summaries, patterns, alerts, and log-history displays depend mainly on data you enter and on general-purpose rules or models. Limited automated rules may flag certain logged patterns. Association is not causation. A chronological record, score, alert, pattern, AI response, or observed timing does not establish a trigger, intolerance, allergy, disease, diagnosis, risk, or treatment. Gutly does not provide clinical monitoring and cannot cover every symptom or risk.

Seek professional care for severe, persistent, new, or worsening symptoms, blood in stool or vomit, dehydration, significant weight change, severe pain, breathing difficulty, loss of consciousness, or any other urgent concern.

Nutrition, meal photos, and Crunchly

Calories, nutrients, portions, ingredients, allergen indicators, and food recognition may be estimated, incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Product recipes and labels change. Do not rely on Bornly to manage a food allergy, metabolic disease, renal disease, eating disorder, prescribed diet, or medication interaction. Check the product label and consult an appropriate professional.

Pregnancy, kick counting, and contractions

Due dates, pregnancy content, fetal-development information, kick counts, contraction duration/frequency, pain ratings, labour-pattern alerts, and partner updates are recording and educational tools. Generic timing thresholds may display a prompt to contact a healthcare professional or consider going to a hospital, but they cannot determine fetal or maternal well-being, cervical change, labour progression, or whether hospital care is medically necessary.

A completed kick count is not reassurance that a baby is well. Follow the personalised advice of your maternity team and contact them promptly about reduced or changed movement or any concern.

Contraction thresholds are generic timer rules, not clinical monitoring. Contact your maternity team whenever concerned, even if the app shows no alert. A partner notification is a convenience and does not replace directly calling the partner, maternity team, or emergency services.

Night Lab and sleep

Sleep records, rested scores, journal history, comparison routines, adherence counts, summaries, and reports are self-experiment and general-wellness tools. They do not diagnose or monitor insomnia, sleep apnoea, or another condition, and do not establish that a routine caused a difference. Consumer wearable data and self-reports have limitations. A higher recorded average is not medical reassurance. Consult a professional about persistent sleep problems, severe daytime sleepiness, breathing concerns, or medication/supplement changes.

Perkly and caffeine

Caffeine amounts and remaining-caffeine curves are illustrative estimates based on presets. The calculation begins with a five-hour half-life assumption and may adjust it using user-selected pregnancy, smoking, contraceptive, or sensitivity factors. Actual dose and metabolism vary substantially. A user-selected display marker is not a safety limit or recommendation. The feature does not determine a medically safe intake for pregnancy, heart conditions, anxiety, medication interactions, or other personal circumstances. Check labels and seek professional advice where appropriate.

Baby Names and general content

Name meanings, cultural or linguistic descriptions, popularity, compatibility scores, and AI name analysis can be subjective or inaccurate. They are not professional legal, cultural, genealogical, or psychological advice.

AI limits

AI output may invent facts, overlook context, repeat a bias, or sound confident when wrong. A human does not necessarily review it. AI cannot examine you, access a complete medical history, or respond reliably to urgent needs. See the AI Policy.

Data and device limitations

Results may be affected by missing, mistimed, incorrectly entered, imported, or synchronised data; device or sensor errors; time zones; network failure; software defects; database errors; changed product labels; and third-party outages. Review source data and correct mistakes where possible.

Your responsibility

Use the Services only for their intended general-wellness and organisational purpose. Consider your individual circumstances and professional advice. Do not use the Services for clinical care, patient monitoring, emergency response, or another regulated medical purpose.

Liability and mandatory rights

The warranty and liability limits in the Terms of Service apply. Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
